Personal Financial Coaching FAQ

What is a financial coach and how can a coach help?

A financial coach is an expert trained in areas like budgeting, debt elimination, collections, bankruptcy, saving and investing for retirement, insurances, paying for college, buying cars or homes and numerous money management topics.  A financial coach, in contrast to a financial advisor, does not sell products.  A financial coach aims fundamentally to educate clients to clarify their values and goals, develop specific financial plan and recommend tools, to ultimately guide the clients with encouragement and accountability.

What is a "fee-only coaching" and why is that important?

Fee-only coaching (vs. fee-based or commission based) only charges clients a fee for services provided and do not accept fees, commissions or any compensation based on referring or selling products.  Fee-only coaches usually provide comprehensive guidance with fewer conflicts of interest.  The coaching will be based on the client's best interest.

Jang Financial Coaching is proud to provide fee-only coaching service and we do not receive any compensation for the products or services we recommend.

What does the coaching process look like at Jang Financial?

Once you decide to take that step toward financial peace, independence and generosity with Jang Financial Coaching, you choose one of the products offered here. Within 12 hours of purchasing the coaching product through this website, you will receive a welcome email which will contain paperwork you will need to complete at your earliest convenience.  Within 12 hours of returning the paperwork to us, you will receive an email to schedule your coaching appointment with your most convenient date and time.  Before the scheduled appointment, you will receive an email reminder.  Within 24 hours after the session you will receive a follow-up coaching recommendation form containing a summary of the coaching session, a list of action steps along with recommended resources.

What can I expect during my coaching session(s)?

Initial coaching session starts with a brief introduction where you will get to learn more about coach and your coach will learn more about your background, your current situation and pain points, and your desired goal.  From there we will jump right into your most pressing issues and we will develop a personalized plan for you to win and get to your desired destination.

During follow-up (often monthly) sessions, we will spend a few minutes catching up on the progress, your wins and challenges, and review our previous session's action items.

All sessions end with a recap which includes specific action items and you will receive a detailed follow-up coaching recommendation form within 24 hours of the session.

What is the average investment into the financial coaching program?

The investment you make will depend on your situation and needs.

Some clients just want to know how they are doing with a 30-minute financial wellness checkup for $100.  That's like getting a physical, but a financial physical.   This will provide financial peace and minor strategy for adjustments.

Other clients come looking for a very specific urgent issue and opt for 1-hour crisis session for $175.  If additional questions or concerns remain after the session, we recommend a 1-hour follow-up session at the discounted rate of $150.

For more complex circumstances, or if the client simply prefer more guidance and accountability, we recommend purchasing the 3-session starter package at $400.  This is actually the most popular package.  For your needs, the last two hours may be split into four 30 minute sessions over a longer period of time.

Our 6-session learner package and 12-session mentor package at the price of $775 and $1500, provide monthly teaching, motivation and accountability over the course of 6 months or one year.

Whichever product you choose, it will be a worthwhile investment in your journey toward financial peace, independence and generosity.

I don't live in Bergen County, New Jersey. Can I still receive financial coaching?

Definitely.  Personal financial coaching sessions are avail in-person, over the phone as well as on various web-based services like Zoom.  Regardless of proximity, 50% of clients opt for web-based services for their convenience.

What if I am not satisfied with the coaching service?

While you will get out of the coaching session what you put into it, you still get a 30 day 100% money-back guarantee when you purchase personal financial coaching services at Jang Financial.  If you are not fully satisfied with Jang Financial Coaching service for any reason, you can simply email us within 30 days of purchasing your coaching session for 100% refund.  You have nothing to lose but that first step toward financial peace, independence and generosity.

Church Stewardship Ministry Consulting FAQ

What is stewardship, a steward and stewardship ministry?

Stewardship is the act of wisely managing the resources entrusted to us by another.   A steward is the person who has been assigned to manage someone else's possessions.  A stewardship ministry at a church is designed to help people understand and fulfill their God-given responsibility to wisely manage God's blessings, God's way for God's glory.

Why should churches bother investing in a stewardship ministry?

While there are many reasons, the biggest reason is that one's relationship to money will always affect their relationship to God as our financial decision is ultimately a spiritual decision.  Thus if we really desire to help our people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ who have been stewarded to manage God's belongs here on earth, then the church is the best place for that to happen.

Your people are retiring with very little savings, losing sleep and fighting with their spouses over debt and money, and most have not been taught about money.  Your church can help them grow in this vital and often neglected area of discipleship.

Your church rarely teaches on biblical finances, the vast majority of people simply believe that stewardship is fundraising, and church finances are in trouble.  Stewardship ministry can strengthen your church both spiritually and financially.
